Jalandhar 22 August (Jaswinder Azad)- School of Information Technology of Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus, Jalandhar, organized a Guest Lecture on “Operational Excellence through Information Technology” for the students of MCA (Semester V) and MBA (Semester III) held on August 11, 2017. Resource person for the guest lecture was Mr. Avinash Garg, who is an IT Consultant having 25+ years of IT experience majorly as CIO promoting ERP, BI and other applications in varied industries and business verticals. Speaker emphasized on the significance of operational excellence in making improvements to a company, thus achieving a competitive advantage. He also stressed on the importance of ERP, CRM, HCM etc. on the efficient working of the business. He added that we need to bridge the gap between industry and academia. He said that though there is no best strategy for completing any task, yet with innovation one can always find a better way of doing it. He also suggested that organisations should always strive for those strategies which lead to profit maximization in the long run. He also organized a role playing activity to make his concepts easily comprehensible to the audience. Dr Kulwant Kaur, Dean - SIT and Mr. Rajneesh Arya, Dean - SMS were also present during the session. Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of the institute thanked the speaker for his informative session.
