Commerce Forum organised a 'Skill Development Workshop' at DAV College

Jalandhar 22 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Commerce Forum organised a 'Skill Development Workshop' for the teachers on "_Perspective of Modern Teaching Techniques_". The workshop was organised in association with ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad. The guest speaker was Dr. Vibha Arora from IBS and the guest of honour was Mr. Bharat Sharma. Vice Principal and HOD Prof. Vice Principal and HOD Prof V.K.Sareen and President of Commerce Forum Prof. Ekjot Kaur welcomed the guests with flowers. Various assistant professors from DAV University, St. Soldier College, DAV College Hoshiarpur attended thr workshop.  Also, professors from various departments of the college like Sanskrit, History, Computers, Economics were present.
Dr. Vibha Arora started with an interactive session.  She stressed on shifting from lecture system of teaching to interactive technique of teaching. Rather than 'telling', 'asking' should be the criteria to make the audience alert and intact with the topic. "Learning by doing" should be thr moto by the teachers for the students. Dr. Vibha Arora said that in order to make the audience understand the topic,make themselves stand in the same situation and then asj their views. An interesting session named Word Antakshari gained the interest of thr audience. Dr. Vibha Arora ecplained the importance of Live Projects, Role Playing,  Mind Mapping during teaching. Both hard and soft skills should be balanced enough.
Vice Principal and HOD Prof. V.K.Sareen  said that they have gained a lot and will surely apply these techniques. He thanked the faculty from IBS and the participants from the college and other institutions for such a wonderful interactive and memorable skill development program.
President of Commerce Forum Prof. Ekjot Kaur extend the vote of thanks to Dr. Vibha Arora and honoured the guest speaker as well as the guest of honour. Prof Nischey Behl, Head, IT and about 60 teachers participated in interactive sessions.
Principal Sir appreciated the efforts of the department and promised full support for organising more such activities for enhancing capabilities of the faculty as well as students.
