Jalandhar 14 December (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya - the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar organized a workshop on career Guidance for students who are on the verge of completing their secondary education and entering the threshold of higher education. Prof. Atima Sharma, Principal, K.M.V. averred that the intent of this workshop was to counsel students to pursue careers after their heart. It is only possible if the students are aware about the various choices of courses they can pursue. Addressing the student Madam Principal reiterated the need of making the right choices at the right juncture as these decisions will reflect on their future life. Then a PPT presentation on career choices was made by Dr.Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare.
She delved in detail on the job avenues offered by various courses. Under DDU Kaushal Kaushal which has been granted by MHRD, KMV runs various job-oriented B.Voc. Courses which play a pivotal role in providing skill development to the beneficiaries. Dr.Madhumeet apprised the students about the avenues which lay bare after pursuing vocational courses. Then She also touched upon the new courses introduced in KMV as these prestigious courses have widened horizons for students by being their a wide variety to choose from. Dr.Gurjot Kaur, Head Dept. of History also spoke on the need of right career choices. Madam Amarpreet, Dept. of Economics threw light on various choices in the streams of Commerce and B.Sc.Economics. The students from various schools stood to gain much from this workshop.
