Jalandhar 27 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Students, staff and management of Lyallpur Khalsa College remembered Shaheed Bhagat Singh in a brief function held in the college campus to mark the birth anniversary of the martyr. This program, organized by the Post Graduate Department of History was attended by College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra as the chief guest. Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra said that it was the duty of the countrymen to remember their martyrs who provided us the freedom that we are enjoying today. He also added that functions like this could help one in relating one to one’s traditions and roots and announced that the same function would be celebrated on a higher level with a cultural function from next session onwards. During the function, Skit, Ghazal, One act play and other activities relating to the ideology of Shaheed Bhagat Singh were also duly presented before the audiences. Dr. Suman Chopra, HOD, PG Department of History thanked Principal Dr. GS Samra, the staff and the entire audience for attending this function. Also present on the occasion were Professors of the department namely, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Karanbir Singh, Prof. Kulnaz Kaur, Prof. Sandeep, Prof. G.S. Buttar and other members of the faculty.
