Jalandhar 5 February (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya - The Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar Post Graduate Department of Mathematics prepared an Interactive display board of Mathematics in the Library of the College. The P.G students of Mathematics welcomed Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. She inaugurated the display board by cutting the ribbon. The theme of this display board was 'Mathematics-The Beautiful Language of the universe'. Only Mathematics can explain how our planet resolves around the Sun, how a boat floats, how light reflects off the water surface. This theme has been displayed with a 'Beautiful Mathematical Tree' whose branches show that all streams of knowledge are incomplete without the theory and beauty of mathematics. The different jobs avenues for example Mathematicians, mathematical physicist, Statistician, Software Engineer, Bank Office, Political Scientist, Architectural Analyst, Operation Research analyst and Data Scientist were related to Mathematics.
The Pictures of Ancient Indian Scientist Bodhayan, Aryabhatta, Brahmagupta, Varahamihira and modern Indian mathematician-Manjual Bhargav, Shakuntala Devi, were beautifully embedded mathematical figures and placed around the Tree. Another concept of Mathematics like Pascal triangle, Vedic Maths, Golden Ratio in Nature in Human body, in art was beautifully described and portrayed through Perfect Models.
Another idea of 'Mathematics everywhere' was developed and presented through pictures which showed how maths is used in Frets of Guitar, in garment construction, in measuring the distance of planets, in designing of buildings and in daily transactions. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the effort of the students and the faculty of maths for having prepared a spectacular display.
