Jalandhar 25 February (Jaswinder Azad)- To spread awareness in youth for the use of helmet while driving, a poster making competition was held in Lyallpur Khalsa College today. In this competition organised by the youth club of the college and the Red Ribbon club jointly, 42 students participated and made posters on the theme of helmet and Road safety.
Speaking on the occasion the college principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra said that that the number of road accidents were alarmingly rising in India and it was the need of the hour that the people were sensitized towards road safety. He advised the students to wear helmet while driving so as to ensure their safety on road. The team of judges consisting of Prof. Arunjit Kaur, Dr. Patwant Atwal, Dr. Geetanjali Moudgil declared Amandeep Singh as the first prize winner, Raghav Syal as second prize and Soni Mehta and Swati Singh jointly as third position winner. Vote of thanks on the occasion was presented by Dr Tarsem Singh Convenor of the club.
