Jalandhar 1 March (Jaswinder Azad)- 370 students of Lyallpur Khalsa College who gave excellent performance in Academics, Sports and Co-curricular activities at university, national and international levels were honoured for their achievements in the Annual Prize Distribution Function of the College. Giving away prizes to the achievers the Chief Guest Sh. Jagdish Raj Raja Mayor Jalandhar expressed the sense of joy and pride he was having on honouring the winners. He congratulated the prize winners and asked them to work united for the development of the country.
Welcoming the Chief Guest, the President of the College Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur said that the college had been providing quality education to its students without any distinction of caste, creed, religion, region and gender for over 100 years and it was a matter of pride that around 40 % of its students were women.
The College Principal Dr. GS Samra presented the annual report of the college, highlighting the key achievements of the college in different areas. He informed the present that the college was going to start Certificate Course in Urdu (in Evening Shift) and Diploma in Computer Animation from the next session. He also informed that the subject of Psychology was being introduced in BA classes.
The prestigious Roll of Honour on this occasion was awarded to Neha Arora , Lovepreet Mann and Saurav in the categories of Academics, Co-curricular activities and Sports respectively. Thirteen teachers of the college who achieved significantly in the field of research and two non teaching employees were also honoured on this occasion. The vote of thanks on the occasion was presented by Prof Jasreen Kaur Dean Academic Affairs of the college.
The occasion was witnessed by the distinguished presence of Sh. Jaspal Singh Wraich Hony. Secretary, S. Rajinder Singh Johal, S. Ramandeep Singh, (Members Governing Council) Sh. Rohan Sehgal Councillor, Master Mohinder Singh and the staff. The stage was well managed by Prof Mansi Chopra and Prof. Jaspreet Kaur Bains.
