Jalandhar 23 April (Jaswinder Azad)- Innocent Hearts School G.M.T., Loharan, C.J.R. and Royal World Pathankot road celebrated ‘World Book Day’ by performing various activities to get closer to books. Classes I to V showed their talent and artistic finesse during the ‘Calligraphy Activity’. Classes VI and VII made beautiful bookmarks to show their creativity and artistic talent in the ‘Bookmark Making Activity’. Students of classes VIII and IX took part in a ‘Slogan Writing Competition’ in which they artistically expressed their views using different quotations related to books while Class X reviewed their favourite books by expressing in the class. All the teachers stressed the importance of books in our lives and how they could aid the students even more by reading relevant books. They were influenced to read meaningful and knowledge related books for future benefits. The younger students were taken to the library and shown books in different sections related to different categories. Director Principal Mr. Dheeraj Banati and Vice Principal Ms. Sharmila Nakra told students that they should choose books according to their interest and treat them as their best friends. Books are also a storehouse of knowledge and are very helpful in the development and success of a child. They help us to develop logic and reasoning power. They encouraged the students to make reading good books a regular habit stressing that’ Today’s Readers are Tomorrow’s Leaders.
