Scholarships awarded to Community College students of Fashion Designing at HMV

Jalandhar 14 May (Gurkirat Singh)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is successfully running two year course of Fashion Designing under Community College scheme of UGC. Any female with minimum qualification +2 and any age group can join the course. There is multiple entry and exit scheme related to the course. Under Community College, the students were awarded with scholarships of Rs.6000/- each, after successfully completing their last semester exams. Total 18 students of Sem. III and 24 students of Sem. I were awarded scholarship by Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. She said that the curriculum of the course is so designed to bridge the gap between industry academia interface.  The course is so planned that regular visits to industry, workshops and seminars are conducted from time to time, to keep the students abreast with the trending fashion industry. The course is collaborated with different fashion industries like S.P. Garments, Saachi Dyeing and Processors, Punnu Synthetics, Garg Acrylics, G.K. apparels, V.H. Synthetic Agency, Tungsten Fashion and VP Lifestyle. Industrial training is also provided to the students every semester. After the completion of the course, the students get 100% placement. The students were in jubilant mood after receiving scholarships. Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal, Mrs. Cheena Gupta, Mrs. Navneeta, Ms. Rishav, Ms. Beenu and Ms. Manpreet were also present during scholarship distribution.
