Jalandhar 9 July (Jaswinder Azad)- A Lok Naach Camp was organised at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar from July 1 to 8. Along with the Punjabi Lok Naach Bhangra, An Anti Drug Awareness Campaign was also initiated by the Governing Council of the College. Around 300 students and staff of the college participated in this camp. Ustad Rajbir Singh and Nirmal Kumar (Vijay) explained various facets of Dhol instrument and folk dance of the region. Team members of Bhangra, Gidha and Ludi, discussed minute details of the different dance forms. The camp was successfully concluded under the worthy guidance of Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra along with the other members of the camp namely Prof. Palwinder Singh Bolina, Dr. Harjinder Singh Shekhon, Prof. Jasneet Kaur, Dr. Amritpal Singh, Dr. Dinkar Sharma, Prof. Gurpreet Singh, Prof. Vikram Singh Kahlon, Prof. Rohit Rana, Prof. Harbinder Kaur, Prof. Pooja, Prof. Sonu Gupta, Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Prof. Kritika Khanna and Ms. Monia.
On the last day of the camp, participants from 4 to 40 age group presented various solo and group dance items. Sardar Jaspal Singh Waraich (Joint Secretary, Lyallpur Khalsa College) and Principal, Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra honoured all the participants with certificates. Dr Samra also congratulated the organising committee of the camp, Experts of Bhangra and other dance forms and all the participants for showing such a keen interest in the camp. Principal, Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra also thanked, President Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur for their continuous support and commitment towards such initiatives undertaken by the college.
