Jalandhar 15 June (Jaswinder Azad)- There is none denying the fact that Lyallpur Khalsa College is a renowned name in the field of education. It is a matter of pride for the college that five students from this institution namely Shalu Sharma, Prabjot Saini, Mandeep Kaur, Richa (M.Sc Math) and Harman (M.A in English) have been awarded a scholarship of two lakhs for the session 2015-16 and 2016-17. These students have been given this Scholarship by University of Grant Commission under ‘Single Girl Child’ scheme. According to this, these five students will be given Rs. 2000/- per month, which will be deposited in their concerned bank account. Further, Lyallpur Colleg has already been awarded with Grade A-CGPA 3.74 out of four by U.G.C and in this year 2016, also college has been received the title of college with potential for excellence. The president of Governing Council of college Sardarni Balbir Kaur and Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra gave their best wishes to these students and inspired them for getting success in future. Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, further said that many lucrative schemes are introducing by U.G.C for students and the students of Lyallpur Khalsa College are taking advantages of such kinds of schemes. On this occasion, Prof. Manohar Singh head of Computer Department and Prof. Shubha Chauhan were also present and congratulated to these students.
