Jalandhar 31 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Environment Club of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a “Neem Gifting Activity”. Student of Environment Club, Simerdeep gifted neem seeds to the students and staff of the college. Incharge of Environment Club, Mrs. Jyoti Kaul presented Neem Seeds to Madam principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The students of Environment club created awareness regarding the growing pollution and diseases associated with the food habits of modern day Indians. The students brought awareness regarding connection between rising incidence of cancer, degenerative diseases and use of pesticide treated food. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Anjana Bhatia, secretary environment club said that Punjab is facing dire problem of rising pesticide content in the food crops. The best solution is to use biopesticides like Neem which are eco-friendly, useful and easily available. Neem seeds were gifted to more than two hundered students so that useful and beneficial trees like neem are grown in every household of our region and neem oil. Mrs. Jyoti kaul said that it is very important that we all start from our homes for the battle against toxic food. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen motivated the students to purify themselves in all spheres, i.e. spiritually, physically and environmentally. Many students actively participated in the drive to promote neem plantation and use of organic.
