Special lecture on in Religious Scriptures and Environment Protection in Khalsa College

Jalandhar 29 August (Jaswinder Azad)- To sensitize the students towards the various problems before the modern life, a special lecture on Role and Impact of Religious Scriptures on Environment was organised in Lyallpur Khalsa College. Organised by S. Balbir Singh Centre for Science, this lecture witnessed the participation of over 100 students and teachers of the college who were enlightened on the topic by the chief speaker Prof. Amarjit Singh Sudan from Botanical and Environment Sciences Department GNDU Amritsar. Speaking on the occasion the chief speaker said that all religious scriptures preached, in direct and indirect ways, closeness to nature and contained significant information about various useful plants.  He said that disregarding the importance of environment could be destructive for human existence. The lecture was followed by an interactive session between the speaker and the students. The occasion was witnessed by the presence of Prof. J.S. Rana Registrar of the college, Prof. Manohar Singh, Dr. Gurpreet Singh and Dr. Harsharan Singh. The stage on the occasion was managed Dr. Jaswinder Kaur.
