Jalandhar 28 September (Jaswinder Azad)- “Cleanliness may be defined to be the emblem of purity of mind,” keeping this thing in mind, CT Group of Institutions celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh with a cleanliness Campaign. The campaign kicked off from Jalandhar Railway Station on Wednesday. After this, now the Cleanliness Drive will be held at the Bus Stand. The students of CT Institute of Hotel Management (CTIHM) & CT Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (CTIHM&CT) organised this mass clean up drive.
The drive saw the participation of around 200 passionate students who were carrying their cleaning kits and dressed up in their Housekeeping uniforms. The students were provided with masks, gloves and a broom stick to clear up the trash. The students started the cleanliness process from 9.00 A.M. with scrubbers, cobweb cleaners, Brooms in their hands. They cleaned reservation Centre, Ticket Counter, S.S. Office and the platforms. Students motivated the people to put garbage into the trash bins only for that they themselves installed the bins at the platforms.
Dr. Rohit Sarin (Director, CTIHM & CTIHM&CT) said, “Most of the people use trains for their commuting purposes. The footfall at our railway station is very high as we all believe that First Impression is the last impression so we should make efforts to keep it clean and hygienic.”
He joined by saying that Our mission from now on is to continue having such programs so that cleanliness becomes a primary objective of each and every citizen of our great country. This cleaning Drive will certainly become a learning experience for the passengers and other people who dump wastes at public places.
Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) appreciated the efforts by the officers of Jalandhar Railway Station and students of CTIHM & CTIHM&CT. He said, “Everybody should follow the guidelines of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in order to lead their life in the best way. Students have taken an initiative to bring change in the society, everybody should also do so.”
