Jalandhar 18 September (Jaswinder Azad)- KanyaMahaVidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandharis made of the type of soil and atmosphere that cherishes and nourishes creativity and originality. Recently the PG Dept. of Music at KMV organized a workshops on voice modulation and control. The resource person for the same was Vice Chancellor Indira Kala SangeetVishwaVidyalaya, Khairagarh, ChatisgarhProf. T. Unnikrishnan. Dr. Krishnan interacted with more than 150 students and discussed with them the technique and art of voice production, modulation and control. The technique is vital to learning the acts of singing and speaking as well. He taught all how to achieve the fiver nuances of musical notes by exercising the voice box lyrnx. According to him classical music is in itself a scientific and technological way of gaining voice modulation and control through SwarSadhna. The exercise of seven notes and vowel forms i.e. Gakaar, Ekaar, Qkaar, Aikaar, Ukaar and the fiver details which helped in throwing of sound in classical and light music were taught. Differentiation between non-practical and trained voice was clearly delineated. He sang ‘Koi Gata, Mein So Jata’ in various ways. To wind up he spoke on the variations of expanding notes of raga hansdhwani. His articulation of notes compounded with mood and emotions in the ghazal‘Shikswa Hi Kya Jo Umar BharRahat Na Mili’ was remarkable.
