Jalandhar 31 July (Jaswinder Azad)- The senior students of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya hosted its Freshers’ Party 2018 in the welcome of the fresh batch of UG and PG (Humanities and Fashion Designing) students on 31st July, 2018 in the premises of the college. The theme of the function AGAAZ 2018: AAO MILKAR CHHOO LE AASAMAN was vibrant at every nook and corner of the college auditorium. The function was started with lamp lighting ceremony to invoke the blessings of Almighty. Chief Guest of the event, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen was given floral welcome by Mrs. Navroop (Organizer), Dr. Ashmeen (Co-organizer), and Mrs. Urvashi Mishra (Dean, Student Council).
Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen extended warm welcome to all the new entrants. She blessed them and inspired them to maintain the tradition of excellence in the field of academics as well as extra-curricular activities. Addressing the students she said that there is no substitute to hard work and it is the only key to success. Madam Principal said that apart from imparting academic qualification, the college aims at holistic development of the students. She ensured that education at HMV will serve as a platform for the students to fight against social evils. Further she said that best efforts will be made for the overall development of the students by inculcating the spirit of social responsibility among them. Madam Principal concluded her speech by wishing best to the students for throughout their journey in HMV.
The event included variety of cultural and entertaining programmes like solo dance, group dance, solo song, games and plays. Ragini Auditorium of HMV became a platform for the ushering talent. There was an enthralling display of events like group dance and solo dance. The students rocked the stage with their colourful and enthusiastic participation in events like modeling and Bhagra. Incoming students also showcased their talent through dance performances.
The event was concluded with the most awaited ceremony of conferring the title of Miss Fresher. The students of UG and PG were conferred with various titles like Miss Charismatic, Miss Enigmatic, and Miss Stylish. Beating all the competitors the crown of Miss Fresher was won by Ms. Kritika. Ms. Kritika was declared 1st runner-up and Ms. Kriti Jain won the title of 2nd runner-up. Ms. Manpreet Kaur was conferred with the title of Miss Stylish in Fashion Designing Department. Ms. Jasleen Kaur was accorded with title of Miss Enigmatic. Ms. Priyanka won the title of Miss Charismatic. Miss Rajni was bestowed upon with the title of Miss Senior Stylish in Fashion Designing Department. Ms. Ridhima and Ms. Harsimran won the title of Miss Senior Enigmatic and Miss Senior Charismatic respectively. Mrs. Kawaljit Kaur, Mrs. Mamta, and Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda acted as judges of the event. The event was concluded with vote of thanks.
