Jalandhar 12 October (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar staunchly believes in giving practical exposure for teaching and learning in order to make it effective in reality. Recently KMV's Department of Journalism & Mass Communication organized a guest lecture on 'Essentials of Report Writing' under UGC Kaushal Kendra Scheme. The students of B.A. (JMC) and B.Voc (Photography & Journalism) attended the same. Mr. Amit Sharma, Resident Editor, Dainik Jagran, Punjab was invited as the guest speaker who was accorded floral welcome by the Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. Welcoming the Guest Speaker Madam Principal throw light on the rich heritage of KMV and also discussed its role in Women Empowerment. Elaborating on the topic Mr. Amit Sharma discussed the meaning of Journalism as passion and hard work with appropriate examples. He then went on to discuss the duties and responsibilities of a journalist. He emphasized on the need of practical knowledge, confidence and command over language as some important qualities of a Journalist. Significance of a byline and its impact was also discussed. Mr. Sharma also touched the topics of specialized Journalism and Photo Journalism with their relevance and present scenario. Mr. Rubal Kanozia, Head, department of Journalism extended a vote of thanks.
