Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized UGC Sponsored National Conference

Jalandhar 28 October (Jaswinder Azad)- Post Graduate Department of Biotechnology, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar an organized today UGC Sponsored National Conference entitled recent Advances of InSilico Analysis: Role in plant stress biology. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Alok Bhattacharya, Prof, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Principal, Dr. G.S. Samara, Dr. Arun Dev Sharma, HOD Biotech and Prof. Gobind Ram convener of the conference welcome the chief guest Dr. Alok Bhattacharya. Opening remarks of the conference was given by Asst. Prof. Gobind Ram. He welcome all the dignitaries and participants. Dr. Alok discussed the concept of Genome Informatics: Challenges and pattern finding using large scale genome analysis. He insisted on carrying the research that meet the challenges of Indian scenario. The session was followed by Dr. P.K. Pati , Professor, GNDU, Amritsar and Dr. Veena Puri, Assistant Prof. Punjab University Chandigarh. Various delegates from different universities and colleges participated in this event.
 On the second day of conference, the session was opened by Dr. Prakash Chander Mishara, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, GNDU, Amritsar. He talked about understanding protein structure and function using In Silico method. After this session Dr. Prabjeet singh, Profeesor GNDU Amritsar gave an informative talk on implication and clamodulin bindinding heat Shok Proteins in heat stress response in plants.
President Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur and Prncipal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra congratule the organizing team and convener of the conference Prof. Gobind Ram of the Biotechnology Department for the success of this event. During this event Dr. Inderjeet Kaur conducted the stage and Dr. Harsharan Singh Co Coordinate the Convener during the whole event. Other faculty members Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Dr. Shelly, Asstt. Prof. Subhneet, Asstt. Prof. Vijayta actively perform their various duties assigned to them.
