- Kejriwal should stop befooling people by daily releasing visionless manifestos
- Congressmen working to ensure defeat of Captain
- Severe jolts to congress as Seth Satpal Mall joins Akali Dal
Jalandhar 24 October (Jaswinder Azad)- President Shiromani Akali Dal and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal declared that party would announce its candidates for 2017 assembly elections in next two weeks.
Interacting to media persons after welcoming the Congress leader Seth Satpal Mall into the party fold here alongwith cabinet ministers Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia and Mr. Ajit Singh Kohar, he said SAD has already conveyed to its probable candidates but the official announcement would also be made soon.
Replying to a question about the announcement of VAT rationalization in manifesto of AAP, Mr. Badal said “Kejriwal should stop befooling the people by releasing visionless manifestos”. He said everyone knows that GST is all set to replace the VAT across the nation from next financial year but Kejriwal is talking about the VAT, which shows his common understanding about the issues pertaining to the society.
Terming Congress party as a sinking ship, Deputy CM said in next 10 days more congress leaders would join SAD as they are feeling stifled in the party due to factionalism. He stresses that SAD-BJP coalition would make a hat-trick and the Congress would be on the same footing as in 2007 and 2012 elections.
Congress party today suffered a major setback as Seth Satpal Mall along with his many supporters joined Shiromani Akali Dal in the presence of Mr. Badal at his residence in Buta Mandi here. He belongs to a traditional Congress family and considered as an influential leader in the Doaba region of the state. Presently he was holding the positions of General Secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress.
Committing to work with full zeal and strength to ensure the record victory of SAD-BJP in the ensuing assembly elections, Mr. Satpal said he and thousands of his supporters would guarantee record margin victory of SAD-BJP candidates. He said grassroot leaders and workers were suffering most because of factionalism in the Congress party.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included MLAs Pawan Kumar Tinu and K.D.Bhandari, YAD Doaba region president Sarbjot Singh Sabhi and SAD district president Gurcharan Singh Channi.
