Sahitya Akademi and Guru Nanak Dev University College, Jalandhar organised a two day event

Jalandhar 7 October (Jaswinder Azad)- Sahitya Akademi and Guru Nanak Dev University College, Jalandhar organised a two day event, "North-East and Northern Writers' Meet". The meet witnessed eminent literates from across the world. President K. Sreenivasarao welcomed one and all present at the event and also thanked Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh Randhawa, without whom the event would not be possible. Dr. Rawail Singh, Convenor Punjabi Advisory Board, in the opening session enlightened all, that 16 different languages would be discussed at this event. President Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari mentioned in his address that such events keep the literature alive. Dr. Dalip Kaur Tiwana in her speech said a writer has the power to present his view and add life to the words. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajaib Singh Brar in his address stated, that he was glad as the university college was chosen for the Writers' meet and also advised the writers to raise voice against social injustice and intolerance through their works.
Principal Dr. Randhawa was grateful to the guests for their auspicious presence and said that this two day Writers' Meet will give writers the opportunity to share their literary creations. The first day witnessed two sessions chaired by Manmohan and Surjit Patar. The stage was handled by Dr. J K Gulati.
