Jalandhar 5 October (Jaswinder Azad)- World Animal Day was celebrated in Layallpur Khalsa College through a function organized by the Zoology and Botany departments. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra welcomed the chief guest for the function, Dr. Charanjit Sarangal an eminent expert of this field who provided valuable information about the various diseases that are spreading due to viruses originating from animals. Dr. Sarangal identified Rabies as one of the most spread disease and also discussed its causes, symptoms and other complications which have often caused serious health issues even leading to deaths in many areas. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra encouraged the students to provide awareness to our society regarding these issues. Dr. Charanjit Sarangal and Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra gave away the prizes to students for their efforts in the program. Also present on this occasion were Prof. Arunjit Kaur, Prof. Jaswinder Kaur, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Prof. Jasbir Singh Rana, Prof. Balwinder Singh, Dr. Arpita Tripathi, Prof. Gurjinder Kaur and other faculty members.
