Jalandhar 2 September (Jaswinder Azad)- A welcome program for the newly enrolled students in the Girls Hostel of Lyallpur Khalsa College was held in the hostel premises. As the chief guest for the occasion, College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra graced the program with his presence and he was joined by Dr. Parminder Kaur, Principal Lyallpur Khalsa College of Education for Women and Dr. Daljit Riar, Principal KCL College of Law. The guests were given a flowery welcome by Hostel Warden Smt. Rita Jadial. The students of the hostel presented various cultural items including Gidha, Bhangra, Group Dance, Solo Dance, Modelling, Poetry Recitation and Punjabi songs in addition to the Block decoration and stage presentations depticting the cultural heritage of various Indian states. Rangoli and Mehndi competitions were also held on this occasion, judged by Dr. Nirmaljit Kaur, Prof. Sukhbir Kaur and Prof. Simarpreet Kaur. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra welcomed the newly admitted students and expressed his best wishes for their bright future ahead. Dr. GS Samra also highlighted the achievements made by the college and urged the students to continue the walk on the glory path. Hostel Head delivered the vote of thanks for this program which was also witnessed by Prof. Manohar Singh, Head, Department of Computer Science and Dr. Raju Sharma, Head, Department of Physiotherapy.
