Bo Voter - Be Responsible Program at KMV

Jalandhar 30 November (Jaswinder Azad)- At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar creating globally aware and responsible citizens is a prime concern.  Living in one of the largest democracies of the world, Indian Citizens need to know their civil duties before claiming the rights and liberties given by a democratic set-up.  The right to vote falls in both the categories i.e. a right and duty in a democratic set-up.  The Department of Political Science at KMV under the aegis of state level sweep program for youth organized a Be Voter- Be Responsible Program.  The main aim of this program was to generate awareness and interest in the youth regarding voting in the coming polls in the state.  During the program a street really, poster-making and slogan writing competitions were organized  50 (fifty) first time to be voters participated in the program.  Addressing the rally Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi observed that it was the first and foremost duty of all citizens in a democratic set-up to exercise their right to vote.  She congratulated the faculty of the Department of Political Science for having organized such a vital awareness program.
