More than 180 students appeared in the selection process.
Jalandhar 7 November (Jaswinder Azad)- The Indian Navy organised days Joint Campus Placement Drive at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus for the recruitment of B.Tech (All Stream) 2017 Passing out batch, concluded on Monday. It is the Fourth visit of Indian Navy at CT Group of Institutions for the recruitment purpose. This recruitment is under the University Entry Scheme (UES) and it provides an opportunity to the students of various engineering branches for technical branch in the Indian Navy as Short Service Commission Officer. In the joint campus placement drive more than 180 students appeared from CT Group of Institutions, Lovely Professional University (LPU), Sant Baba Bagh Singh, Giani Zail Singh College of Engg & Technology (Bathinda), Gulzar Group of Institutions (Khanna), Beant College of Engg. & Technology (Gurdaspur), Guru Nanak Dev Engg. College, (Ludhiana). The selection process included two rounds following a group discussion and interview on the basis of which the Indian Navy would shortlist the students for SSB Test conduct for the final recruitment in Indian Navy. A team of four officials including Cdr. Baldev Singh, Cdr. R. S Mann and Lt. Cdr R.P Singh conducted the selection process including Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
In the Presentation, officials inform the students about various career opportunities in the Indian Navy. Eulogizing the caliber of the students the company officials were impressed with the enlightening caliber of the students, Cdr. Baldev Singh said, “The Indian Navy is the naval branch of the Indian Armed Forces. The Indian Navy is the fifth largest in the world. It played an important role in India's victory in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. The forces have always managed to win laurels for our country. By organizing such placement drives we always manage to recruit young and talented officers to add in the charm of our Indian Navy. For this, we are thankful to the educational institutions for conducting this drive.”
Exclaimed over the thunderous response, S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) thanked the Indian Navy for conducting the placement drive in their campus from the last three years in a row. S. Channi said, “It is a matter of sheer pride that our students would get an opportunity to work with Indian Navy.”
