Jalandhar 19 April (Jaswinder Azad)- Fine Arts department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized one day trip to Amritsar to visit PULKANJRI - a Historical place located midway between Lahore and Amritsar. It is related to the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The students of BFA and BD did photography. Sketching and live water colour demonstrations were given by the faculty of the department. The group also visited heritage village ‘Saada Pind’ depicting the cultural reflections of Punjab. The students were given live demos of Handlooms, Wearing, Phulkari, Clay Pottery, Traditional Turban Techniques etc. by the craftsman and artisans of Saada Pind. The faculty members Dr. Rakhi Mehta, Ms. Gagan, Ms. Manmeet, Ms. Rajandeep and Mrs. Harsimran along with 40 students enjoyed and learnt traditional and modern crafts of Punjab. Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated Head of the Fine Art department Miss Shama Sharma, other faculty members and encouraged to organize such more trips in future.
