Skill Development… Need of the Hour!
Jalandhar 7 December (Jaswinder Azad)- Understanding the changing needs of our country, CT Group of Institutions have started National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) approved Skill oriented training courses in the premises of its Shahpur and Maqsudan Campuses, Jalandhar. These approved courses are allocated to CT Group of institutions to impart skill oriented training to the unemployed, under skilled youths or dropout students of the region.
CT Group of Institutions is among the very few in the region which has been selected by National Steering Committee of A.I.C.T.E. – New Delhi to conduct these courses under its National scheme “AICTE approved PMKVY for technical Institutions”. A.I.C.T.E.-New Delhi has initially allocated 275 number of seats of various sectors to CT Group of Institutions to impart this skill based training to the unemployed, under skilled youths or dropout students free of cost. Under this scheme, This training will be imparted in A.I.C.T.E.-New Delhi recognized institutions all over India. In line with the miision of “Skilled India” of our honorable Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi Ji, the main objective of this scheme is to reduce unemployment and increase the gross domestic productivity(GDP) of our country.
Mr. Barjinder Singh Bedi (Head, Entrepreneurship & Skill Development at CT Group of Institutions) said, “Under this scheme, CT Group of Institutions will conduct skill oriented training programmes for unemployed or under skilled youth of the region. These training programmes are developed by Sector Skill Council’s(SSC’s) on the basis of their skill gap studies for various job roles, aligned with National Skill Qualification(N.S.Q.F.) and are approved by National Skill Development Corporation-New Delhi(N.S.D.C.) related to different sectors like Electronics & Hardware, Construction, Automotive, Healthcare, Capital Goods and Infrastructure. Under this scheme, A.I.C.T.E. has the future projection to skill more than 10 Lacs, these kind of unemployed or under skilled youths in its recognized technical institutions within next three years. These unemployed or under skilled youths, after completion of their training programme, will be evaluated by an assessment committee nominated by respective sector skill council at CT Group of Institutions and will certify youths for their respective job roles to get opportunity to work at National & International Level.”
S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) said, “These Skill Development courses are essential for students or fresh entrants to excel and emerge successfully in real life situations of working.
