Jalandhar 10 December (Jaswinder Azad)- KanyaMahaVidyalaya-The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar a pioneer institution of women education, always takes initiatives in organizing various educational and industrial trips to enhance knowledge and overall personality of its students. In keeping with this tradition, under B.Voc in Management & Secretarial Practices, an industrial visit was organized to make the students aware of prevalent management and work practices. As students learn better through demonstration and observation of live working environment, an industrial visit was organized to Punjab Infotech, Sector 17, Chandigarh. Punjab Infotech was established in 1976 and has been working in areas like Estate Management, Human Resources Management, and has been providing assistance to Government IT related projects.
During this visit students interacted with the Chairman and MD, Ms. Shruti Singh (IAS), Mr. Sunil Chawla, DGM, Mr. RakeshLakhani and Mr. SalilKaplash. Mr. Sunil Chawla acquainted the students about their prevalent management practices, importance of communication, work requirements, organizational set-up, budget planning and control mechanisms. He explained each and every aspect through powerpoint presentation.
After presentation students were taken to witness the working of the office. Mr. RakeshLakhani and Mr. Salil explained their working to the students in detail. Students were given practical exposure through visits to their departments where actual operations were in progress like management of flow accounts, HR Management, Administration Management. They witnessed a healthy superior subordinate relationship that existed amongst the staff of Punjab Infotech. The work environment left a positive impact on all the students. All the staff members were very polite and supportive and they answered every question of the students very positively. Principal KMV Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the faculty members to organize this visit and said that the students can gain a lot through such visits which have been instrumentals in broadening their knowledge horizon.
