Jalandhar 23 December (Jaswinder Azad)- Organising Educational Trips is a routine feature of every department at KanyaMahaVidyalaya-The Heritage Institution. Recently in order to give practical exposure to the reality of print and electronic media KMV Department of Journalism & Mass Communication organized an educational trip to Chandigarh. In the capital of Punjab the students visited the office of one of the most popular national daily ‘The Tribune’. They were also taken to the office of Jas Punjabi T.V. Channel. The main aim of the excursion was to familiarize the journalists in the making with the reality of their craft, both in the print as well as the electronic media. The students had the privilege of interaction with the ‘Editor-in-Chief’ of The Tribune Mr. Harish Khare. He demonstrated the process of converting events occurring in day to day life into news stories for the public day the newspapers. He also guided the students about career prospects in the avenue.
In the field of electronic media at the office of the channel Jas Punjabi students learnt about the details of production. The students were accompanied by the Head of the Department Mr. RubalKanozia, Madam Nidhi Sharma and Madam Muskan Sharma. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students and the faculty of the Department of JMC for having organized such a fruitful exposure for the budding journalists. She felt confident that it would go a long way in shaping their future.
