Jalandhar 27 January (Jaswinder Azad)- PG Department of English of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar organized an Extension Lecture on the topic: ‘Language, Culture and Identity’ by Dr. Z.N. Patil (Former Prof. and Head, Department of Training and Development English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad). Conferences, Workshops, Extension Lectures are a regular feature of the intellectual ambience at KMV. Dr. Z.N. Patil was accorded floral felicitations by Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi and Mrs. Seema Jain, Head, PG Department of English. Dr. Z.N. Patil elaborated upon the different nuances of the topic and in a very lucid and interactive style discussed the reciprocal and integral relationship between language, culture and identity. The lecture was attended by the students of M.A. English, Honours School in English and Elective English. Madam Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi emphasized the need for holding such deliberations which are crucial for developing the understanding of the subject among the students. She congratulated the English Department for this initiative. A vote of thanks was delivered by the Head of Department Mrs. Seema Jain. The faculty members of the department Mrs. Satinder, Mrs. SeemaArora, Dr. DeepikaAnand, Dr. Reena Sharma, Mrs. Rituparna, Mr. Jaideep, Mrs. Preeti and other were also present on the occasion.
