Jalandhar 25 January (Jaswinder Azad)- To understand the importance of National Voters Day, the students of 7th and 8th std. of Eklavya School conducted a rally on ‘Right To Vote’ in elections. The objective was to bring awareness regarding voting in elections among people. The students made the use of posters, banners and slogan writing in the rally to make the public responsible for its duties. Everyone participated enthusiastically.
The children asked the questions regarding the minimum age to vote, current Chief Election Commissioner of India, the maximum age prescribed for election as President, the Chief Minister of Punjab, the date for elections in Punjab from the people and students gave the information to those who were not aware. All the children were very confident while asking the questions and giving the information. The people showed a great interest and participated actively in giving response to the children.
The director of the school, Ms. Seema Handa said that such kind of rallies can help the students in becoming responsible citizens of the nation. The manager, Ms. Sapna Bakshi and the Principal Ms. Dimpal Sharma said that such kind of active participation enhances the knowledge of the children.
