Jalandhar 25 January (Jaswinder Azad)- 7th National Voters’ Day was celebrated by Deputy Commissioner-cum-Distt. Election Officer in Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed chief guest Deputy Commissioner Sh. Kamal Kishore Yadav, Sh. Pankaj Kumar, Sh. Alok Kumar, Sh. Rajiv Verma, SDM Jalandhar, Sh. Raj Kumar Tangri, Tehsildar Elections, Sh. Surjit Lal, DIstt. Counsellor, Sh. Subheg Singh, DPRO, Sh. Munish Kumar, IRS, Sh. Harbir Singh, Returning Officer. The programme started with lighting of the lamp. College students sang welcome song. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that it is a matter of pride for HMV that Voters’ Day is celebrated in our campus. She awakened the youth for casting their votes and said that responsibilities are equally important as rights.
The message of Chief Election Officer Dr. Naseem Zaidi was also telecasted. The students of college presented Nukkad Natak “Meri Vote-Meri Awaz” directed by Mrs. Veena Arora under NSS department of HMV. Programme Officer NSS Mrs. Kuljeet Kaur was also present. The students encouraged the persons present there to cast their votes. On this occasion, a song ‘Voter Jugni’ was also launched which is a joint venture of District Administration, Shamsher Communications & HMV. Deputy Commissioner Sh. K. K. Yadav also released the poster of ‘Voter Jugni’. Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner Sh. K.K. Yadav addressed the students and said that every voter of the country should be aware in casting the votes. The new voter cards were also given to the voters. The students also took an oath on this occasion. Stage was conducted by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Coordinator, Mrs. Nita Malik, Mrs. Alka, Mrs. Jivan Devi were also present.
