The international students presented their rage over the incident
Jalandhar 29 March (Jaswinder Azad)- The International students of CT Group of Institutions condemned the appalling racial attack on Nigerian students who were brutally beaten-up in Greater Noida by mobs. The incident has spread a sense of fear among Nigerian as well as other African students across the nation. Likewise, the International and Indian students of CT Institutions from Zambia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Guinea-Bissau, Malawi, Nepal, Ethopia, Burundi condemned the incident by holding a peaceful march in the premises of Shahpur Campus with placards giving messages like Stop Racism, One Race Humanity etc.
The Association of African Students in India (AASI) has also condemned the attack on African nationals and have also asked the central government to ensure that the community got protection in all the region where the African student live.
Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) said this incident has blemished the image of India where thousands of foreign students come to study. "They are our guests and we should respect them as it is also part of our culture. The students are here to pursue education for a brighter future just like lot of Indians go and study in other countries like Australia, U.S.A.”
S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) regrets the attack on the Nigerian students. He said, “We have always ensured to provide best of the facility, safety and security to all our International and national students so that they live or study here freely without any worries. He said, “We are committed to ensure the safety and security of all our students.”
