Jalandhar 27 March (Jaswinder Azad)- Chandrayaan VIPNET Club of Physics department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized Inter College Model Making Competition. Students displayed both working and still models based on different concepts, phenomenon and applications related to mechanics, heat, thermodynamics, optics, magnetism, electronics, space satellites system, etc. The function was inaugurated by lighting the Vidya Jyoti by Chief Guest Dr. Rohit Mehra from NIT, Dr. Rajiv Sharma from DAV University, Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen and HOD Physics Mrs. Rakesh Uppal. Princpal Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen appreciated the efforts of Physics department. Ten teams from various degree as well as technical colleges participated in the competition. Mukesh, Jujhar Singh and Pardeep Kaur of Merhchand Polytechnic College bagged First position in Working Model Category for their model of Electromagnetic Security System. Gul Bindra and Prerna from Khalsa College for Women Ludhiana bagged second prize for their working model of Audi Li-wi. Navjot Kaur and Rupika Sharma of HMV stood first for ISRO still model. Shweta and Simarpreet from Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana stood second for still model of Atomic force microscope. One day before, Inter class Model Making competition was also organized in which 28 students participated. Students presented different models explaining various concepts and phenomenon of Physics. Prabhjot Kaur, Harinder Kaur and Sabnoor Kaur got first position for their working model of generation of electricity at speed breakers. Chahat and Gurpreet got second prize for their working model of vacuum cleaner. Navjot Kaur and Rupika Sharma got first prize for still model of ISRO. Stage was conducted by Mrs. Meenakshi Syal. On this occasion, Mrs. Saloni Sharma, Mrs. Geeta Sakhuja, Ms. Preeti and Ms. Shilpa were also present.
