Jalandhar 29 March (Jaswinder Azad)- Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus organized Industrial Visit for the students The students visited Active Tools Pvt. Ltd. . The students were acquainted with the various manufacturing phases and also about the functioning of various units of the organisation.
Mr. Gurnam Singh, Director, Active Tools Pvt. Ltd. And other officials from the company guided the students and informed them of the various processes and the working of the organisation.
Post-lunch students had an interactive session with Mr. Navraj Singh, Director, Web Supplements Ltd. He is an alumnus of Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus and now a successful entrepreneur. The resource person mentioned what prompted him towards entrepreneurship and the benefits of being an entrepreneur. He highlighted the importance of team work in running an enterprise.
Mr. Navraj Singh shared that this team work would further lead to sense of belongingness among employees working in the enterprise. He stressed on the importance of good marketing skills and the use of social media for success of an enterprise.He added that as an entrepreneur, he started from the grass root level and with will and determination managed resources on his entrepreneurial journey.
This was followed by a session by Dr. Anu Sahi, Assistant Professor, Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus. Dr Sahi started her talk by defining basic terms like ‘Innovation’, ‘Creativity’, Imagination etc. She also elucidated the difference between innovation and invention. She explained how being creative helps a person think out of the box and come up with novel ideas to problems. She also made the students perform certain imaginative exercises where students had to put their creativity into use and come up with novel ideas. Then, she went on to elaborate the entire innovation process from idea generation to research techniques and production and marketing strategies. She cited examples of Mumbai Dabbawalas, Zivame and many successful enterprises to explain her point. She also acquainted the students with SCRAMPER rule of innovation. She also explained the strategies which are employed by various successful business organisations. She enumerated various techniques that can help an individual be innovative. Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus expressed that students were acquainted with the insights and inputs of eminent entrepreneurs.
