Three-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Campaign concluded in Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus

Jalandhar 30 March (Jaswinder Azad)- Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus organised a three- day Entrepreneurship Awareness Campaign from March 28- March 30, 2017 under the aegis of National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Implemented by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad..
The three-day campaign began with a talk by Mr. Puneet Oberoi. Mr. Oberoi is senior partner at M/s Puneet Oberoi & Co. (Chartered Accountants). Mr. Oberoi explained the students the concept of GST(Goods and Services Tax). He explained how GST is going to help in eradicating the problem of tax evasion. He also added that GST is going to make the tax structure more convenient. He also informed the students about CGST, SGST and IGST. The resource person was presented a memento by the EDC committee.
Mr. Rajneesh Arya, Dean, School of Management Studies, was the resource person for the second session. In his address, he highlighted the importance of knowing your customer well. He elucidated that as a business house or enterprise, one should try to understand the customers’ perception and their buying behaviour.
He cited examples of renowned industries, business houses like Videocon to explain that one should also have a knowledge of the timing when customers would be more interested in buying a product or in availing a service. He explained that age, gender, occupation, mindset has a great role in determining the buying behaviour of customers. He also showed clippings of some educational movies to bring home the point that passion and commitment also play important role in determining the success of an enterprise.
Mrs. Sunita Sharma, MD, Pardeep Educational Learning & Training Centre was the Chief Guest for the Valedictory Session. She was also the resource person for the session. She interacted with the students and informed that the real enterprising spirit comes from within. She highlighted the importance of patience, good communication skills, leadership ability in becoming a good entrepreneur.
Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus expressed that this workshop would have been very beneficial for the budding entrepreneurs . He expressed his thanks to all the resource persons like Mr. Puneet Oberoi, Dr. Anu Sahi and Mrs. Sunita Sharma for sharing their knowledge with the participants.
