Jalandhar 8 April (Jaswinder Azad)- NSS Unit of Apeejay College of Fine Arts visited the village Dhahan where organic farming is undertaken. The unit rubbed the shoulders with Mr. Baljeet Singh who is associated with organic farming for years. Singh told the unit that the vegetables and fruits we consume are rather unhealthy because of pesticides. He stressed the need of organic farming as the only safeguard. Taking the unit to actual field, he showed how organic farming generates healthy Brocllids and strawberry also larger in size. He further acquainted the unit with upcoming concept of Kitchen Garden by using the pots of Cocopeet. Further, he threw light on the concept of Vermiculture too.
Dr. Sucharita, Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Apra, Dean NSS Unit and remarked that such visits bring the students vis-à-vis to ground realities. She further added that organic farming is actually the need of the hour.
