Jalandhar 17 May (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar’s Gandhian Studies Centre organized a one day personality development camp for the girls in village Kahanpur. The Gandhian Studies Centre since its establishment in 2008 has been providing life skill courses in fashion designing, cosmetology and basic computers within the college campus and through camps in the villages. Till date the centre has trained over 2000 girls from villages around Jalandhar. The camp began with inauguration of a boutique setup by Mrs. Jaspreet, who was trained by the Gandhian Studies Centre in 2015. During the day the girls were given tips on enhancing personality and boosting self confidence by Dr. Monica Sharma, the Director of Gandhain Studies Centre. Demonstration on make up and hair styles was given by Mrs. Anita Sharma from the department of cosmetology and our student Ms. Navpreet Kaur, who has been selected as Miss Punjab 2017. More than 50 girls participated in the camp. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma appreciated the efforts to the Gandhian Studies Centre. She also congratulated and gives her best wishes to Mrs. Jaspreet for the success of her new venture.
