Health Awareness Camp at Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus

Jalandhar 16 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Towards creating a healthier society by popularizing preventive measures, Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus organized a health awareness camp in the auditorium of the campus for the students of MBA , MCA, BBA and B.Com. The lecture was organised in association with Department of Health. A team Led by Dr. Raghubir Singh Randhawa, Civil Surgeon, Jalandhar along with Dr. Kamal Sidhu (AHO), Dr. Satish Kumar (Epidimologist) and Dr. Amuliya (MO) spread awareness to students regarding various Vector and Waterborne diseases like Malaria, Dengue and Swine Flu. In his lecture Dr. Randhawa stressed that swine flu has come earlier this year and the symptoms of the ailment included cough, temperature, cold, sneezing, throat pain, difficulty in breathing, loose motions, body aches etc. Dr. Randhawa advised students to cover their mouth and faces while sneezing and to wash their hands after touching their nose, eyes and mouth. He advised people not to visit crowded places and to maintain distance of 1m from those suffering from cough, cold and sneezing. Dr Satish advised students against self-medication. Dr. Rajesh Bagga and Faculty of the institute was also present in the lecture. Dr. Bagga, at the end appreciated the efforts made by the team.
