JALANDHAR (RURAL) POLICE COMMITTED FOR WIPING OUT BANE OF DRUGS- GURPREET SINGH BHULLAR
Jalandhar 1 June (Jaswinder Azad)- Continuing its spree against drug peddlers, the Jalandhar (Rural) police today achieved a huge success with the seizure of drugs worth more than Rs 5.50 crore in different cases involving three Police stations of Phillaur, Nakodar and Adampur.
Disclosing this here today, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the district Police was committed to eliminate scourge of drugs from Jalandhar. He said under a special drive the district Police has recovered 1 Kg 100 Grams Heroin and 2 Kg Opium from various drug peddlers/smugglers. He said that in a special drive launched against drug peddlers/smugglers a police party arrested a suspected lady pedestrian, identified as Suzie Achayo @ Shivonje d/o David Shivonje caste Christian r/o Kenya Nairobi, Umoja, 226, Near Busara Primary School c/o Chattarpur Lavaniya, New Delhi with 800 grams heroine from her. Mr. Bhullar said that during the course of preliminary investigation the accused revealed that she came to India in 2015 and indulged in business of purchasing replica human hairs and exporting to one Mr. Kamau in Kenya. Thereafter she came in contact with one Nigeraian namely Chibuzo and she indulged herself in smuggling of Heroin. The Police has registered a case u/s 21/61/85 NDPS Act, PS Phillaur district Jalandhar (Rural).
The SSP further revealed that during a Naka at Adda Shankar in Police station Nakodar the Police arrested Gurdip Singh@Deepa resident of Nurmahal with 300 GM of Heroin. He said that during the course of preliminary interrogation Gurdip revealed that about seven cases have already been registered against him in PS Nurmehal whereas his co-passenger Balwinder Kaur revealed that she remained in jail for 13 months in Travel Agent case. Both the apprehended accused revealed that they received this consignment of Heroin from a Nigerian at Delhi. The SSP also said that in another major breakthrough CIA-1 Staff arrested Raju Yadav, aged 18 years s/o Kapil Yadav r/o village Titlangi, PS Pipratan, district Palamu, Jharkhand with 1 Kg of Opium. During the preliminary investigation, the accused revealed that he received this consignment of Opium from one Rinku Yadav s/o Dablu yadav, r/o Village Titlangi, PS Pipratan, District Palamu, Jharkhand. FIR No. 110 dated 01-06-2017 u/s 18/61/85 NDPS Act, PS Adampur, district Jalandhar (Rural).
Similarly, he said that Ravi Kumar s/o Daulat Ram r/o Mohalla Chaudhrian, Nawanshehar Road, Phillaur from Allawalpur Turn-about, Adampur was arrested by CIA –II staff after 500 GM of Opium was recovered from him at Adampur. During the preliminary investigation, the arrested person revealed that a case of smuggling of poppy husk was registered against him in Ludhiana. Case FIR No. 111 dated 01-06-2017 u/s 18/61/85 NDPS Act, PS Adampur, district Jalandhar (Rural).
In the same manner, Mr. Bhullar said that CIA-2 Staff also arrested Rinku Yadav s/o Dablu Yadav r/o Village Titlangi, PS Pipratan, District Palamu, Jharkhand and recovered 500 GM of Opium from him. FIR No. 112 dated 01-06-2017 u/s 18/61/85 NDPS Act, PS Adampur, district Jalandhar (Rural).
