Jalandhar 27 July (Jaswinder Azad)- Music ignites all the areas of child development- intellectual, social and emotional. It helps the body and the mind work together. It is one of the most beloved human experiences and plays an important role in the education of a child by providing it an opportunity of self-expression. An Inter House Music Competition was organized on 27th July 2017 in Mayor World School to expose our students to music, while also enhancing their confidence and presentation skills. The competition was divided into two categories: Solo and Duet The participants from all the Houses were full of enthusiasm and eager to show their talent. They prepared well for the competition and a wide range of classical and folk songs were presented. The Principal Mr. J.S.Hundal witnessed the competition and acknowledged that the high potential amongst the students will lead them to the path of glory.
The participants were judged on three aspects such as presentation, harmony and melody. Madhvi (XI B) of Shakespeare House bagged the first position and Sanya (XII B) of Keats House followed with the second position in Solo Song category. In Duet,Raghav and Chandan (XII B) of Shakespeare House grabbed the first position and Rajbir Singh (X B) andDrish (VIII B) of Wordsworth House got the second position. The efforts of the participants were appreciated by the Principal and the present audience.
