Seminar conducted on 78th Foundation day of CRPF at DAV College, Jalandhar

Jalandhar 27 July (Jaswinder Azad)- A seminar was organized in collaboration with NSS and NCC Department of the College on the 78th Raising Day of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in DAV College, Jalandhar. On this occasion, CRPF Deputy Commander Shivendra Mohan Sharma joined as Chief Guest. CRPF sub-inspector Vikram Singh, head constable G. Muthu Kumar, Head Constable Dharmendra and Constable Mark Singh Cheema were also present on the ocassion. Prof. Sameer Sharma and Prof. S.K. Midda awarded the Deputy Commandant with 'Award of Honour'.
While addressing the seminar, Deputy Commissioner Shivendra Mohan Sharma informed about the establishment day of the CRPF he said that on 27 July 1939 the Crown Representative Police (CRP) was formed on behalf of the British Government. After independence in 1949, the then Home Minister Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel named the CRP as the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
He also said that the CRPF is proud of every soldier, who responds with internal and external threats to the country while pursuing their duties with conscientiousness. On this occasion, he shared his thoughts with all the students and said that before coming to the CRPF, he went into banking, teaching and corporate sector but then he was convinced to go to the CRPF after getting motivated by the country service. During this seminar, he also answered the questions of all the students who came. Not only this, he also gave a message of being optimistic and he encouraged every student at the end of the ceremony. While thanking the Deputy Commissioner of the CRPF Shivendra Mohan Sharma, the College’s Vice Principal Prof V.K Sareen asked him to further motivate the students.
Principal of the college Dr S.K Arora in his message, congratulated the deputy commandant of CRPF and all the officials accompanying him. He said that the CRPF is always ready to serve the country. Principal S.K. Arora asked the officers of the CRPF to continue organizing such seminars in the college in the future. With this, he congratulated the Program Co-ordinator, head of NSS Prof. S.K. Midda and NCC Chief Dr. Sameer Sharma for successfully organising the seminar.
