Jalandhar 9 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar has been ceasellessy endeavoring to impart quality based education to its students. Various Seminars and extension lectures are organized by P.G Department of Commerce & Business Administration for acquainting the students with latest developments in the field of Commerce and Industry. In this series, a seminar on 'career in Life Insurance' was organized in collaboration with PNB Metlife. The eminent dignitaries for the seminar were Mr. Ram Lal Bassan, Branch head, PNB K.M.V. Branch, Mr Gaurav Kapoor, Senior Marketing Manager, PNB, Mr Vivek Sharma, Territory Manager, PNB Jalandhar. The Seminar began with thw welcome address by principal, Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi and Dr. Neeraj Maini, Head P.G Dept. of Commerce and business administration. The resource persons for the session, Mr. Narendra Sharma and Mr. Vivek Sharma acquainted the students with the importance of Life Insurance and the career options in this field. He Highlighted an alarming fact that out of 130 crore population of india only 15 to 20 % are insured. Lack of awareness amongst the common masses is considered to be the major cause of this drastically low percentage of life insurance in India. He cited real life examples to subatantiate these facts. He apprised the students with the procedures to be complied with at different entry levels of various jobs in this upcoming sector of insurance. The seminar was very participative as the students addressed their queries about career prospects to the erudite resource persons, which were apartly answered by them. In the end, Vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Neeraj Maini, appreciating the efforts of the team fro m PNB in expanding the knowledge horizon of the students.
