Jalandhar 5 September (Jaswinder Azad)- PG Department of Physics of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar organized National Anveshika Experimental Skill Test (NAEST) by Prof. M.S.Marwaha, in Which about 80 science students appeared from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya and other institutes. Anveshikas are centers for developing innovative experiments related to Physics teaching and learning and promoting experiment-based Physics teaching. There are 22 Anveshiks in India working under the umbrella of national Anveshika Network of India(NANI). NANI is conducting National Anveshika Experimental Skill Test (NAEST) at all the 22 centers to encourage the culture of doing experiments. NAEST is being organized at two levels, (a) School level, Std 9-12 and 9b) college level, Bsc/Msc. Nominations were asked from schools/colleges for participating in NAEST. A maximun of 10 nominations per institution were accepted. This competition is at individual level not as team. Out of the total nominations, screening was done through a video quiz showing experimental observations and each student was given an answersheet to mark answers. A short experiment was shown in each video and questions were asked based on the experiments shown. Based on the answers screening was done to select students for Prelim. Each selected student in screening will be required to perform a set of 3 experiments. Evaluation will be done by the evaluating team on performing the experiment with care, results obtained and the analysis done. From each Anveshika, the topper in each level (school/college) will move to final. Semi Final and Final competition of NAEST will be done at SGM-IAPT Anveshika, Kanpur. Based on this, certain numbers will be selected for final round. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma appreciated the participating students to be involve in such events and ensured the gathering that KMV will always be ready to hold any event that promote science among students and appreciated P.G. Department of Phusics faculty for organizing such events under IAPT.
