Jalandhar 9 November (Gurkirat Singh)- The 'Bio Tech Festival' was organized by the Department of Bio-Technology, DAV College, Jalandhar, which was attended by the students of Biotech. Many competition were organized in this festival. The start of the celebration was done by Principal Dr. S. K. Arora and Dr. Renuka Malhotra, Head of Biotech Department by lightening the lamp. Principal Dr. S. K. Arora also greeted the students with good wishes for the competition, after which the competitions were organized. There were competitions like photography, best out of the waste, paper presentations, rangoli, still working models and add maid. The theme of every contest was linked to biotech.All students participating in this competition proved their worth while demonstrating their creativity. Students presented their art on photography, rangoli, still working models, best out of the Waste on related to biotech by the students. In poster making, Manpreet from biotech second year stood 1st, Simran from Biotech third year bagged second position, Shreya from Biotech ranked third. In model making Praneeth, Nishant, Simran stood first. Simran, Deepali, Priya bagged second position. Abhishek, Ruben, Rahul and Sukhdeep were third. In photography, Simran Biotech second year stood first, Nishita Biotech third year got second position, Divya Kalia Biotech second year and Jaspinder from Biotech 3rd year got the third position. Muskam and Ishita stood first in Rangoli, Neha and Aarushi bagged second position, Sapna and Khushboo bagged third position. In best out of waste, Simran of second year stood 1st, Ashampa and Nandini bagged second position. Simran and Abhishek were first and Shamin and Deepali got second position in the Add Mad show. In addition to this, Kanika and Skirti were rewarded for making a creative cake. At the end of the competition, the Principal of the college Dr. S.K. Arora and Dr. Renuka Malhotra, Head of Biotech Department, rewarded the winning students. During this time, Principal Dr. S.K. Arora appreciated the competition of the Biotech Festival. He said that such competitions are framing golden opportunities for the students. He said that the creative style of the students will be further developed from such competitions. On this occasion, Dr. Renuka Malhotra, Head of Biotech Department, presented the best wishes to the students of the competition and said that such events will be organized in the future to give a direction to the hidden creativity in children. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Prof. Mandeep Kaur, Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Vishwajyoti Sharma and Lab Assistant Mr. Ajaypal, Shri Shashipal were also present.
