Students of DAV College donated 80 units of blood

Jalandhar 8 November (Gurkirat Singh)- After completing 100 glorious years of DAV College, NSS, NCC, Red Ribbon Club and Youth Service Club jointly organized a voluntary blood donation camp. While participating, students donated more than 80 units of blood. The camp was organized by Dr Gagandeep Singh (BT) under the able guidance of Civil Surgeon Dr Raghuvir Singh Randhwa with his medical team. The camp was inaugurated by SDM Dharamvir Singh of Jalandhar. Captain Inderjit Singh Dhami, Assistant Director Youth Services Jalandhar, Colonel Patiala, Commanding Officer, Punjab Battalion NCC Jalandhar-2 were present in particular. On this occasion, Paramveer Singh, in his address, encouraged the students with the importance of donating blood. Principal Dr. S.K. Arora welcomed all the guests and said that blood donation is the true service of humanity. The blood given by you gives life to the person. Program Co-ordinator Prof SK Middha and Major Sareen Sharma thanked the volunteers. With this, he appealed that youth should be included in such good deeds so that the rising demand of blood can easily be fulfilled. He said that there are many people in our country, who have lost their lives due to lack of blood. Professor Lakhbir Singh (Head of Punjabi Department), Prof. Asha Verma (Youth Co-ordinator), Prof. Komal Arora (Head of Botany Department), PRO Prof. Manish Khanna, Prof. Meenu Talwar, Major S.K. Tuli, Prof. Rajan Sharma, Prof Naveen Saini, Prof Navin Sood, Dr Sanjeev Dhawan,Prof. Rajesh, Prof. Sukhdev Singh Randhawa and Prof. Pooja Rana were present.
