K.M.V. organized a guest lecture on Contemporary Journalists: Future and Prospects

Jalandhar 17 February (Jaswinder Azad)- At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar the Heritage and Autonomous institution arranging educational activities outside the classroom is a routine, as they provide them invaluable exposure to the practical aspect of their field of learning and training. Prof. B.K. Kuthiala, Vice Chancellor Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Evam Jansanchar Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh who is associated with online journalism and no less that twenty educational institutions was the Guest lecturer for the day. The topic of his lecture was ‘Contemporary Journalism: Future and Prospects’. He was formally welcomed by Vice-Principal Mrs. Seema Jain with warm words and flowers. He was associated with Prof. K.S. duggal, from Guru Nanak Dev University, Dr. Ranbir Singh, IKGPTU and Dr. Rubal Kanozia, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda. The interactive session began with questions from students. Replying to whether journalism is a mirror of the society. He said that a journalist’s own view point seeped in news making virtual and real images of society and total objectivity was not possible. According to him, the role of a journalist is to just light a matchstick in the darkroom and show to the society the room. The rest is for the society to decide what to do. Journalism is a natural outcome of man’s curiosity to know what is happening around for that technology was developed. Journalism is also an extension of our social relationships. The aim of journalism is to communicate truth for the welfare and prosperity of the society. The spellbound audience listened to the wisdom of the man known as The Stalwart of journalism in a relaxed environment. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi thanked the guest lecturer for sparing his valuable time for interacting with faculty with faculty and young student.
