Jalandhar 9 March (Jaswinder Azad)- The students of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar today showed their athletic abilities in the 66th Annual Sports Meet of Lyallpur Khalsa College. Students from seven Faculties -Arts, Sciences, Commerce, Computer Science/IT, Masters Group, Physiotherapy and Sports participated in various athletic events. S. Ajitpal Singh Dhadwal, a renowned figure in the world of Bhangra overseas graced the occasion as the chief guest. Welcoming the chief guest, the College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra said that the college was committed to promotion of sports in the region and for this all possible facilities like liberal concessions, hostel and mess facility, sports training and cash prizes were provided to the player students. Dr. Jaspal Singh, Head of Physical Education Department read out the report of sports achievements and records made by the college in various events during this session.
On the basis of their consistent performance throughout the year, Saurav was honoured with the Roll of Honour while Vinod Kumar, Prince Parmar and Ravi Kadiyan were also given special recognitions for their achievements. The Overall Trophy for the Sports Meet 2018 was bagged by Computer Group and Runners up trophy bagged by Physiotherapy Department. Teaching and non teaching Staff also actively participated in the events. Running commentary on the occasion was performed by Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar and Prof. Harpreet Kaur. The vote of thanks for the occasion was presented by Dr. S.S. Bains, Dean Sports of the college.
