Jalandhar 19 March (Jaswinder Azad)- As a part of the curriculum of B.Architecture, a five day educational trip was organized by CT Institute of Architecture and Planning. The major objective of the tour was to explain the architectural features and planning style of Le-Corbusier which he finds best place in architecture and planning in India. In Chandigarh, the main buildings visited were Jang-e- Azadi, City Centre, capitol complex, Legislative Assembly, Secretariat and The High Court.
Taonga S. Zulu, a 2nd Year International student pursuing B.Architecutre said, “The tour was well organised and informative. It was of great help as we got a wider perspective and visualized elements and features more clearly.”
Baldeep Singh, a 3rd Year student shared, “Tour organised to Chandigarh was very beneficial from educational point of view. It updated us with technologies and trends.”
Ar. Ravina, Architecture Faculty who accompanied along expressed, “Tour was very beneficial for students to make them understand about the principals and ideology used in city planning and in different landmarks by Ar. Le Corbusier “
Er. Preetpal Singh, Architecture Faculty added, “This educational tour was organised to provide unique opportunities for students to explore and learn outside class rooms with exposure to real world issues in an informal interactive forum.”
Chairman CT Group of Institutions, S. Charanjit S Channi said, “A field trip is an opportunity for students to visit sites of national and international significance and to study historic, contemporary and vernacular architecture. Such visits prove beneficial for them to get real life exposure.”
