Alba-Baena, Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez (Mexico) was in GNA University for an expert talk on Nano composite processing on 25th April 2018. Dr V.K Rattan welcomed Dr. Noe G. Alba in GNA University.
Nanocomposite is a multiphase solid material where one of the phases has one, two or three dimensions of less than 100 (nm), or structures having nano-scale repeat distances between the different phases that make up the material.
The idea behind Nanocomposite is to use building blocks with dimensions in nanometre range to design and create new materials with unprecedented flexibility and improvement in their physical properties. A nanocomposite is a matrix to which nanoparticles have been added to improve a particular property of the material. The properties of nanocomposites have caused researchers and companies to consider using this material in several fields.
Expert talk was interesting and useful for all. He has discussed various survey of the applications of nanocomposites in detail. For ex: it is widely used in aerospace applications. Nanocomposites are found in a number of places and the use of nanoparticle-rich materials predates the understanding of the nature of these materials. In recent times nanocomposites have provided the aerospace industry with a variety of material solutions. Students interacted with Dr. Noe G. Alba and addressed their queries positively.
Pro Chancellor Gurdeep Singh Sihra thanked him for visiting the campus and insisted him to visit again for further research collaboration with Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez (Mexico). Also Dr. Vikrant Sharma has given vote of thanks for sharing knowledge with GNA students.
