Self-defence prepares you to fight, rather than to freeze: Krav Maga Master
Jalandhar 27 April (Jaswinder Azad)- Keeping in view the importance of self-defence in today’s insecure era and to help girls protect themselves against any harassment, eve-teasing attempts and other crimes, a one-day workshop on self-defence for girls was organised by Rajan Syal’s Parindey at CT Public School, Maqsudan. The guest trainer for the session was Mr. Jaswant Singh, Commando Trainer with National Security Guard (NSG) and has more than eight years of experience and has trained more than 5,000 male and 1500 female commandos.
More than 100 female students from classes VI-XII participated in this open-air workshop and experienced a lot many useful techniques that could be used in case of any emergency.
Along with his team members, Mr. Jaswant told the students about the different tactics and techniques useful for girls as he believes that self defence prepares a person to fight rather than to freeze. The students benefitted from the workshop as they were taught various techniques like jab, punches, and knee kick and horse stance by the NSG coach and his team.
Mr. Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group said, “Such training was needed because women/girls may not always get help from others when needed. This training will boost their confidence level and improve their physical and mental health. So it will be helpful for them when they do not have anyone around them to help, in case of violence.”
Principal Mrs. Suman Rana and Mr. Rajan Syal from Parindey Academy, Dr. Sushma Chawla also graced the workshop.
